WICA permanent incapacity calculator
Calculate an indicative permanent incapacity award using AME, an official age multiplying factor, and assessed PI. Medical expenses are shown separately in SGD.
PI = AME × official age factor × PI percentage, within injury-date minimum and maximum limits multiplied by PI. At 100% PI, the award includes the additional 25% described by MOM. Medical expenses are separate.
Enter a valid official age factor and the other inputs to calculate. No award is shown without the factor.
Indicative only; MOM’s Commissioner determines the award and eligibility. Medical leave wages are separate and require the official leave-day calculation. This tool excludes fatal injuries and accidents before 1 September 2020.
MOM’s permanent incapacity formula is average monthly earnings (AME) × age multiplying factor × assessed permanent incapacity percentage. For accidents from 1 November 2025, the bounds are S$116,000 and S$346,000, each multiplied by PI. Earlier covered accidents use S$97,000 and S$289,000. At 100% PI, MOM adds 25% to the award. Medical expenses have a separate one-year limit and coverage test.
Indicative statutory benefit calculation only. The Commissioner’s assessment controls the award. Do not use it as a negotiated settlement amount or a lifetime medical buyout.
WICA injury-date limits
PI limits below are the 100% base before any 25% supplement. Multiply by the assessed PI percentage. Medical expenses remain a separate benefit and end at the amount limit or one year, whichever comes first.
Singapore WICA calculation questions
- Where do I get the age multiplying factor?
- Use the official MOM permanent incapacity calculator with your date of birth and accident date. Copy its age multiplying factor into this tool. Do not guess from your current rounded age.
- How are WICA permanent incapacity limits applied?
- The injury date selects the base minimum and maximum. Each is multiplied by assessed PI before the raw AME × age factor × PI amount is bounded. At 100% PI, the additional 25% applies to the bounded award.
- Does this tool calculate medical leave wages?
- No. MOM pays medical leave wages for eligible working days. Outpatient leave starts with up to 14 days at full AME; hospitalisation leave starts with up to 60 days at full AME, followed by two-thirds within one year of the accident. Use the official leave-wage calculator to account for workdays and mixed leave.
- What medical expenses can I enter?
- Enter eligible injury-related treatment expenses within one year of the accident. The limit is S$53,000 for accidents from 1 November 2025 and S$45,000 for the earlier covered period. Treatment and provider eligibility still apply.
- Is the result the final WICA award?
- No. The result is indicative. MOM’s Commissioner determines coverage, the assessment, the applicable limits and the final award. This tool excludes death benefits and accidents before 1 September 2020.
Check the WICA assessment before calculating
- Confirm AME and the age factor from the official MOM calculator.
- Use the assessed PI percentage and correct accident-date limits.
- Keep medical expenses and medical leave wages separate from the incapacity award.
